Lucerne, Switzerland – Florence, Italy – 8th day (06.10.12)

This was our last day at Lucerne and heading to Florence, Italy.  Lucerne is one of the best place that we have visited so far. Locals are very kind, warm and always smiling.

Our last breakfast at Hotel Flora Ameron.

Our original trip was to reach Milan and then take another train from there to bring us to Florence.  But when we were still at Lucerne, we were asked to transfer from Goschenen by bus since one of the train tracks was being checked.

Inside our spacious train Regio to bring us to the border of Switzerland and Italy where we will ride another train to our next destination, Milan.

First glimpse of Duomo, also called Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore.  The cathedral complex, located in Piazza del Duomo, includes the Baptistery and Giotto’s Campanile.

Lots of tourists around the city.  An old city but with many branded shops all over the place.

Our next destination was Pisa.  We have to take a train from Flurenze and alight at Pisa Centrale station.  From there, we have a choice to reach Leaning Tower of Pisa by foot, bus or taxi cab.  We decided to walk and able to reach Pisa tower before 7pm.
